HT22: Double A Projects Global Free Store

Global Free Store (2009–) is a non-commercial pop-up shop where visitors can give or get useful things like clothes, books, and household items. The project also invites curatorial and performative participation, with the artists hand-crafting items to pay contributors to the free-store economy. For HT22, Global Free Store is situated at the Royal Hawaiian Center, one of Hawaiʻi’s largest outdoor shopping malls in the heart of Honolulu’s tourist mecca, Waikīkī.

HT22: Richard Bell "Embassy" Conversations

Richard Bell's Embassy is a fluid, conceptual artwork around the idea of sharing space and creating a platform for conversation with invited guest speakers. Beyond the Embassy’s presence as a tent, the work also collects video archives of the conversations that occur in the space, connecting each iteration of Embassy to previous ones (held around the world), creating a sort of global solidarity amongst Indigenous Peoples.

Join the Hawaiʻi Symphony in a series of concerts celebrating the Triennial theme of Pacific Century: E Hoʻomau no Moananuiākea. Featured works include the premiere of Vivian Fung’s Violin Concerto, Dane Lam conducting Maria Grenfell’s piece Clockwork, Leilehua Lanzilotti’s work koʻu inoa, and Takashi Yoshimatsu’s Symphony of “Birds & Angels.”
