Join us as local filmmakers Justyn Ah Chong, ‘Āina Paikai, and Sancia Miala Shiba Nash engage in conversation with poet, filmmaker, and producer Richard Hamasaki about their respective filmmaking practices and collaborations for Hawaiʻi Triennial 2022, including kekahi wahi film collective, Nā Maka o ka ʻĀina, and “Down on the Sidewalk in Waikīkī,” a short film inspired by the work of Kanaka Maoli poet Wayne Kaumualii Westlake (1947–84). Moderated by associate director Josh Tengan.

Hawaii Contemporary

Hawaiʻi Contemporary is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit arts organization located in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, that showcases a multi-site contemporary art exhibition every three years.
