Taro Patch Creative is a fanau of makers, researchers, facilitators, and artists based in Old Papatoetoe, Aotearoa. They dedicate their mahi to their community, centering indigenous storytelling, platforming Tagata Moana & Mana Whenua experiences, indigenous approaches to well-being, collaborative ways of art-making, and how art-making can be utilized for communal and collective healing. Giving back to their communities, from a place of ofa, alofa, aroha, generosity, empathy, and oneness is always paramount in their mahi.
For HT25, Taro Patch Creative artists represented are: Emily Mafile‘o, Vea Mafile‘o, Bubzie Mafile‘o, Ulua‘ipouomalo Eseta Mauga, and p.Walters — with Taro Patch Fanau Rach Adams, Noma Tava‘e Sio, Mandy Crawford Marsters extending their tautoko. All have varying backgrounds in modes of storytelling, art making, exhibition making, music, film and television, community workshops, and wānananga.
